DJI Mini SE vs Mini 2 - Camera

The biggest difference between the two drones is definitely in their camera capabilities.

The Mini 2 can shoot with 4K/30 fps video resolution, while the Mini SE will have to do with Quad HD 2.7K/30fps video resolution. The Mini 2’s 4K resolution lets you capture pixel-perfect images, but the Mini SE’s 1080p quality depends on what you’re using it for, like posting to Netflix, YouTube, Vimeo or other social media sites.

As for the photo mode, both cameras are similar. They both have the same 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor that captures images with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The only difference is that in Mini SE you can capture photos in JPEG while on the Mini 2 you can capture photos in JPEG or RAW format.

Performance view

Flight speed

When used in Sport mode, the Dji Mini 2 is a little bit faster than the Dji Mini SE, with a speed of up to 16 m/s for the Dji Mini 2 as compared to 13 m/s for the Dji Mini SE.

Flight time

They both have a maximum flight time of about 30 minutes even 31 minutes for the Mini 2 but we consider them the same, which is seriously impressive.

Maximum altitude

The DJI Mini 2 has a higher maximum of 4000 meters altitude while DJI Mini SE has a maximum altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. On that point Dji Mini 2 is Great.

Flying distance

Here discuss one of the major differences between these two. Probably we can say that of the biggest disappointments of the Dji Mini SE. Where the latest addition to the DJI Mini SE range uses enhanced WiFi, while Dji Mini 2 benefits from OcuSync 2.0. The latest OcuSync 2.0 transmission system, extends its transmission range with stronger resistance to signal interference and automatic adjustments between two frequencies. As a result, the Dji Mini SE supports a maximum of 4 km of HD video transmission, while the Dji Mini 2 supports a maximum of 10 km. That is also a huge difference in range that we can never ignore.

DJI Mini SE and Mini 2 both use Intelligent Flight Battery LiPo (Lithium Polymer) cell. Lithium Polymer battery grants more than enough time to compose the perfect shot than the old Li-ion battery from the Mavic Mini.
